Movie Review: Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince
I had so much expectations from this film, play date was moved so i thought they are definitely gonna make this one big. But boy was i so disappointed. :(
Book 6 is actually my favorite Harry Potter book because it has so much in it. Now i know movie versions of books tend to scrimp on some scenes and details, but what they did in this movie was beyond that. It was boring - perhaps 5-minute of excitement is all you're gonna get. Sure you'll find some parts amusing, but they are irrelevant as well. Cheesy and pathetic even! Yes, acting of the main characters have improved but again in a fantasy movie, you tend to bypass acting. Graphic effects... again it was only shown on some parts, i do like the scene when Harry and Dumbledore are getting the potential Horcrux and the short scene on Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes (cute shop!), other than that.. zzzz. I was so looking forward the action scenes in Hogwarts after the long blah blah, but nope they did not give that :(
Another thing i didn't like on this movie is how they TRIED to just put bits and pieces of information together. As i said, there's a loot of information in Book 6, and the movie tried to cover them in short scenes, which did not help in letting the non-readers get the whole picture. Some scenes tend to make the non-reader think "What is the scene for?". Editing is another key factor that failed on this movie.
It's so ironic that in movies i liked Order of the Phoenix better when it is actually my least favorite HP book. Harry Potter team should definitely be all-out on their last movie - even if would mean having to split it into two movies!
Outfit of the Day: Going Yohji
Yohji Yamamoto is a Japanese fashion designer that made his first debut internationally in Paris in 1981. His design are mostly avant-garde and signatures in mostly-black oversized silhouettes with eccentric draperies. His latest Fall creation for Y's (one of his clothing line) is mostly composed of shirt dresses - kinda masculine if you ask me, but i still love how he mixes these pieces up from the coats to those boots.
Y's Fall 2009 Collection
One Friday, i got on my Y's uneven cardigan. I love this attire as it is so street fashion. The cardigan even has a small sort-of hoodie and penguin tail at the back. Shape was definitely unique! It is dark blue with green stripes then I partnered it with a colorful Mango oversized tank top. Just perfect for a Friday day at the office :)
Y's cardigan, Mango oversized tank top, black leggings and Charles and Keith high-heeled shoes
Love this penguin-tail! :)

Mela-isms
Mela-isms is a term coined by my friends because of my constant ramblings / boo-boos / slowness during conversations :P This blog will not be about that! It will be just a venue for me to share to everyone all my interests - travel, fashion, photography, movies, tv series, food, books, etc! :)
Now I know i am not a good writer, so please bear with me on that. =P I'll mostly post pictures anyways to compensate on that. :) But do i hope you'll enjoy viewing my posts and find a thing or two interesting! :)
Enjoy! :)
